Dr. Patrick Carr is a licensed physician and surgeon in Alabama and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Patrick Carr grew up in Clarksdale, MS with four other siblings on a family crop farm. He graduated from The University of Mississippi Magna Cum Laude with a Major in Biology and Minor in Chemistry. Dr. Carr earned his Medical degree from The University of Mississippi Medical School. While there, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society during his third year and later graduated Suma Cum Laude. Upon graduation, he received the Walter S. Leathers award for the highest academic average GPA of his class over the 4 years of medical school. Patrick then Completed his Dermatology residency and Internal medicine internship at The University of Virginia where he served as chief resident during his last year. He has been published in many peer reviewed journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery among others. He has also co-authored multiple books chapters and presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual meeting. Dr. Carr is trained in medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. His special interests include skin cancer prevention and early detection, phototherapy treatment for medical conditions, complex medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife Jensen and daughter Lurae. They are excited to be in Huntsville/Madison closer to family and friends. He enjoys ultimate frisbee, backpacking, road biking, mountain biking, reading, traveling, woodworking, gardening, ken burns documentaries, Broadway shows, and puzzles.
Dr. Jordan Ivey is a licensed physician and surgeon in Alabama and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She was born in Arlington, Virginia, but spent most of her childhood in Dothan, Alabama. Dr. Ivey attended Auburn University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2014 with a major in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Spanish.
Dr. Ivey earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She spent her 3rd and 4th years of medical school at the UAB Huntsville Regional Medical Campus. It was during those years that she met her husband and fell in love with the Huntsville/Madison area. She completed both her internship in Internal Medicine and three-year Dermatology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. During her dermatology residency, she was awarded the Resident Teaching Award by medical students for excellence in medical student education.
Dr. Ivey is trained in medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Her special interests include skin cancer prevention and early detection, pediatric dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. She looks forward to providing comprehensive dermatologic care to her patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Ivey enjoys spending time with her husband, Ross, and their son, Sam. She also enjoys exercising, reading, and spending weekends in Auburn during football season. She is excited to be back in the Huntsville/Madison area and to join the wonderful team at Southeastern Skin.

Dr. Albert E. “Bo” Rivera founded Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology in Madison in 2012. He is a licensed physician and surgeon in Alabama, board-certified diplomate of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, a fellowship-trained member of the American College of Mohs Surgeons as well as member of several dermatology and medical specialty organizations such as the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, Skin Cancer Foundation and the Madison County Medical Society.
He was born and grew up in nearby Haleyville, Alabama, graduating from Haleyville High School. Afterward, he completed his undergraduate education at Auburn University, earning a degree in Premedicine and Zoology while also a letter-winning member of its’ nationally ranked track and field teams. Following his hometown friend and primary care doctor’s footsteps, he completed his medical training at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. His internship in General Surgery was done at the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, Kentucky, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in Saint Petersburg, Florida. At Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, he completed both a Dermatology residency as well as a Dermatology research and laser fellowship under the direction of Lloyd J. Cleaver, DO. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Rivera was nationally awarded the James Bernard, D.O. Residency Leadership Award based on integrity, respect, empowerment and initiative. The final honor in his training was completing a Mohs Micrographic Surgery subspecialty fellowship under the direction of Roger I Ceilley, MD and Andrew K. Bean, MD in West Des Moines, Iowa. Over the years he has had the opportunity to publish several articles in national and international medical journals as well as authoring chapters in medical textbooks and online. Dr. Rivera serves on the editorial board for the Jounral of Clinical and Aesthtic Dermatology, as well as having served on the Journal of the American Ostepathic College of Dermatolgy editorial board, and on the AOCD Editorial/Public Relations Committee and as an American Academy of Dermatolgy Liason. He has also given presentations at local, national and international venues to both non-medical and medical professionals throughout his medical career.
Dr. Rivera enjoys multiple aspects within Dermatology but has specific interest and extensive training in the prevention and treatment of skin cancers. Personally, he enjoys traveling, educating others, general fitness as well as participating in and viewing multiple sports. Also, away from work, he enjoys time with his wife, Stephanie, their children, and their dog. Numerous friends call the Madison and Huntsville area home and he hopes to contribute to and better all of the local communities. Locally, he has been involved with the Huntsville Committee of 100 and was a board member and officer of the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club. Dr Zimmer’s Dermatology residency was completed in 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was a Chief Resident from 2019-2020.
Dr Zimmer stays involved with the dermatology community through service on a committee with the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology), and also reviews scientific article submissions for the JAAD (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology). She has contributed 19 scientific and medical publications, contributions, or presentations. Her special interests and training include complex medical dermatology, contact dermatitis/patch testing, and cosmetic dermatology. Outside of work, Dr Zimmer enjoys spending time with her husband, baking and cooking, and hiking and being with nature. Bailey Kellum started with our wonderful team in 2022 at the age of 23. She has been working in health care since she was 19 years old! She has previously worked in cardiology and veterinary medicine. Bailey has a whole zoo at home that includes 3 dogs – Honey Cash, and Zeppelin – and two cats – Ozzy and Tommy-Lee. Bailey recently got married October 2022, after joining Southeastern Skin Cance r& Dermatology, and bought a home in Ardmore, Alabama. She loves working in dermatology and is so happy to be a part of such an awesome team!

Carly Robinson brought her wonderful personality to the Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology team in 2022. She is originally from Falkville and has 3 kids, Brady, Hollyn, and Collins. In her time away from work, she spends her days binge watching shows and hanging out with her kids. Carly enjoys making people laugh and smile so your time with us should be one to remember. Also, she would like you to know (gift ideas?) that her favorite food is Hunts Brothers pizza and boiled eggs.

Brian received his bachelors degree from Mississippi State University in Banking & Finance in 1993. He then received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University in 1994. He has served as President of the Alabama Medical Group Management Association and the Birmingham Medical Group Management Association in addition to many years of serving on the boards of each. Brian has also served on several Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama committees. When not “managing”, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, travel, and Mississippi State sporting events.

Lindsay Hayler, PA-C, MPH, MPAS is a certified and licensed physician assistant from the beautiful beach town of Wilmington, N.C. After graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in English, she moved to Houston, Texas as a 2001 Teach for America Corps member. There she taught middle school English as a Second Language to beginning English speakers from all over the world. Upon completing her Americorps commitment, she entered graduate school at the University of Texas School of Public Health while also working as a graduate research assistant in Behavioral Science at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She completed Physician Assistant school in 2008 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and has practiced as a dermatology physician assistant since then. Lindsay recently became a Diplomate with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the highest honor available to an experienced dermatology PA, after completing their Distance Learning Initiative. Dermatology is her passion and she cannot imagine practicing any other type of medicine. Having suffered from severe acne since her teenage years, she has an affinity for treating acne patients and an understanding for the distress acne can cause. Lindsay enjoys salsa dancing, reading, traveling (India and Puerto Rico are her two favorite places so far!), playing the flute, and hot yoga. She has recently moved to Alabama and is enjoying her return to the deep South. Lindsay looks forward to serving you with a smile!

Stephanie is originally from Orlando, Florida and joined our team at Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology in January 2014. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology in 2006 from The University of Central Florida. After graduating, she was employed as a Medical/Surgical Assistant and a Mohs Micrographic Surgery Histology Technician for a Dermatology practice in Orlando for one year. Inspired by this experience, she furthered her education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from there with honors to earn her Masters of Medical Sciences degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010. She has enjoyed practicing Dermatology since graduation and brings a wealth of knowledge in general and cosmetic dermatology to our practice. Stephanie is experienced in all aspects of dermatology, providing a variety of treatments for the skin, hair and nails. Her special interests include cosmetic dermatology and the prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancer and accelerated photoaging. Surgery is among her passions and she enjoys assisting Dr. Albert “Bo” Rivera with Mohs surgical cases and closures, as well as performing minor excisions. Sarah, a Northern California native joined our wonderful team in 2021. She enlisted in the US Army when I was 19 years old and then was honorably discharged after four years serving as a medic in the 3rd infantry division. Sarah has worked in Dermatology since 2016. Her favorite things to do are watching movies with my daughter, Kaitlynn, traveling, and the outdoors. At Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri, he completed both a Dermatology residency as well as a Dermatology research and laser fellowship under the direction of Lloyd J. Cleaver, DO. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Rivera was nationally awarded the James Bernard, D.O. Residency Leadership Award based on integrity, respect, empowerment and initiative. The final honor in his training was completing a Mohs Micrographic Surgery subspecialty fellowship under the direction of Roger I Ceilley, MD and Andrew K. Bean, MD in West Des Moines, Iowa. Over the years he has had the opportunity to publish several articles in national and international medical journals as well as authoring chapters in medical textbooks and online. Dr. Rivera serves on the editorial boad for the Jounral of Clinical and Aesthtic Dermatology and the Journal of the American Ostepathic College of Dermatolgy as well as serving on the AOCD Editorial/Public Relations Committee and as an American Academy of Dermatolgy Liason. He has also given presentations at local, national and international venues to both non-medical and medical professionals throughout his medical career.
Dr. Rivera enjoys multiple aspects within Dermatology but has specific interest and extensive training in the prevention and treatment of skin cancers. Personally, he enjoys traveling, educating others, general fitness as well as participating in and viewing multiple sports. Also, away from work, he enjoys time with his wife, Stephanie, a daughter who was born in 2015 and their Labradoodle. Numerous friends call the Madison and Huntsville area home and he hopes to contribute to and better all of the local communities. Locally, he is involved with the Huntsville Committee of 100 and is a board member and officer of the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club. Dr. Rivera has also been awarded the Doctor’s Choice Award in Dermatology for Madison. Dr Katelyn Anderson Zimmer is a licensed physician and surgeon in Alabama and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr Zimmer is originally from Missouri and she obtained her undergraduate degree in Mathematics (minors in History, Theology, Biology) in 2012, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Saint Louis University.
She earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2016. The following year, she completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr Zimmer’s Dermatology residency was completed in 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was a Chief Resident from 2019-2020.
Dr Zimmer stays involved with the dermatology community through service on a committee with the AAD (American Academy of Dermatology), and also reviews scientific article submissions for the JAAD (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology). She has contributed 19 scientific and medical publications, contributions, or presentations. Her special interests and training include complex medical dermatology, contact dermatitis/patch testing, and cosmetic dermatology. Outside of work, Dr Zimmer enjoys spending time with her husband, baking and cooking, and hiking and being with nature. She is excited to live in Huntsville and serve the Madison/Huntsville community!

Dermatology PA-C, MPH, MPAS
Lindsay Hayler, PA-C, MPH, MPAS is a certified and licensed physician assistant from the beautiful beach town of Wilmington, N.C. After graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in English, she moved to Houston, Texas as a 2001 Teach for America Corps member. There she taught middle school English as a Second Language to beginning English speakers from all over the world. Upon completing her Americorps commitment, she entered graduate school at the University of Texas School of Public Health while also working as a graduate research assistant in Behavioral Science at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She completed Physician Assistant school in 2008 at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and has practiced as a dermatology physician assistant since then. Lindsay recently became a Diplomate with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the highest honor available to an experienced dermatology PA, after completing their Distance Learning Initiative. Dermatology is her passion and she cannot imagine practicing any other type of medicine. Having suffered from severe acne since her teenage years, she has an affinity for treating acne patients and an understanding for the distress acne can cause. Lindsay enjoys salsa dancing, reading, traveling (India and Puerto Rico are her two favorite places so far!), playing the flute, and hot yoga. She has recently moved to Alabama and is enjoying her return to the deep South. Lindsay looks forward to serving you with a smile!

Stephanie Rivera is a Board certified Physician Assistant with a range of Dermatology experience. Stephanie is originally from Orlando, Florida and joined our team at Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology in January 2014. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology in 2006 from The University of Central Florida. After graduating, she was employed as a Medical/Surgical Assistant and a Mohs Micrographic Surgery Histology Technician for a Dermatology practice in Orlando for one year. Inspired by this experience, she furthered her education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated from there with honors to earn her Masters of Medical Sciences degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010. She has enjoyed practicing Dermatology since graduation and brings a wealth of knowledge in general and cosmetic dermatology to our practice. Stephanie is experienced in all aspects of dermatology, providing a variety of treatments for the skin, hair and nails. Her special interests include cosmetic dermatology and the prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancer and accelerated photoaging. Surgery is among her passions and she enjoys assisting Dr. Albert “Bo” Rivera with Mohs surgical cases and closures, as well as performing minor excisions. A native Floridian, Stephanie enjoys almost any activity outdoors, volunteering and spending time with her husband, Dr. Rivera, their daughter who was born in 2015 and their Labradoodle. She welcomes you to the practice and will make your visit as pleasurable as possible!

Brian Lasker is the Practice Administrator for Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology. He has over 20 years of physician medical practice management experience. Brian received his bachelors degree from Mississippi State University in Banking & Finance in 1993. He then received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Mississippi State University in 1994. He has served as President of the Alabama Medical Group Management Association and the Birmingham Medical Group Management Association in addition to many years of serving on the boards of each. Brian has also served on several Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama committees. When not “managing”, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, travel, and Mississippi State sporting events.
