Southeastern Skin Cancer & Dermatology in Madison, Alabama offers fractional, non-ablative laser for skin resurfacing and the treatment of surgical scars, acne scars and stretch marks – the only FDA cleared laser for the treatment of stretch marks. The various Microlenses allow for customized treatments; the XF Microlens for high speed, quick treatment sessions or the XD Microlens for deeper penetration to reach tough conditions such as scars and stretch marks.

How does laser scar treatment work?

Unlike surgery, laser scar treatment uses short pulses of micro-fine laser light to reach deeply into the skin’s sub-layers, treating the support structure. Then the body’s natural healing process sweeps away older, damaged tissue and rebuilds it with fresh, new collagen and elastin—the crucial building blocks of normal-looking skin. It’s a fast and simple procedure that’s easy to tolerate and requires little-to-no downtime.

What types of scars can be treated?

Laser scar treatment is FDA-cleared for surgical scars and acne scars on any area of the body, including the face. Our laser is the only FDA approved laser for treatment of stretch marks. Please contact us if you would like further information on this option for yourself.
